Twined

General Assembly x The Creative Collective x Adobe Creative Jam

Timeline: 70 Hour Sprint

My Role: UX Designer & Researcher

The Challenge

While platforms like Instagram and Facebook allow creatives to showcase their work, they cater to a broad, general audience.

How might we empower BIPOC creatives by creating a dedicated space to showcase their work, grow their network, and access new opportunities?

Our Goal

Our goal is to create an app that empowers underrepresented BIPOC creatives by providing hiring opportunities and fostering diversity.

Our Solution

Our solution is an app that lets users quickly browse BIPOC creatives’ portfolios and availability, streamlining the hiring process.

Why might BIPOC creatives face challenges in securing freelance opportunities?

Problem: Many creatives face challenges alone without access to a safe space for guidance or feedback.

UX Opportunity: Create community hubs, discussion forums, resource libraries, or mentorship spaces tailored specifically to BIPOC creatives.

Problem: High competition on major platforms makes it difficult for BIPOC creatives to stand out.

UX Opportunity: Introduce filters, curated categories, and recommendation algorithms that highlight emerging or underrepresented talent.

Meet “Twined”

Twined is our response to The Creative Collective and Adobe Creative Jam challenge. We’ve built a platform for BIPOC creatives to showcase their work and connect with other BIPOC talent for freelance opportunities.
